getfirebug.com has Chromebug 1.6a10, the Firefox extension debugger we use for Firebug.

  • Breakpoints saved between runs
  • Filter simplified and only applies to Files list now
  • Back/Forward navigation as in Firebug 1.6a10
  • Extensions panel added
  • When you stop on a breakpoint all nsIDOMWindows have event suppression.
  • Panels, contexts remember their last settings between sessions.

Please note

  • Use Firebug 1.6a10 with Chromebug 1.6a10
  • Don’t install jetpack prototype or SDK with Chromebug.

Firebug 1.6a10

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

getfirebug.com has Firebug 1.6a10. This release has some new features:

  • Back/Forward buttons keyed to Control-Shift Left,Right arrows
  • Breakpoints saved across Firefox sessions,
  • Font changes in the command line

A more complete list is tagged fixed-1.6a10 in the bug list.

Most of our time has been going into two new projects, the Swarm tester to give certified tested collections of Firebug extensions and Memorybug, an extension for analyzing memory based on code written by Dion Almer and Altu Varma. I’d say we are behind on our self-imposed plan for 1.6. The beta is probably still a month away.

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

  1. Issue 2788: Script panel files get truncated
  2. Issue 2942: Style tab loses its options
  3. A fix for script truncation related to break-on-error

This version will be distributed to addons.mozilla.org users in about a week.

Firebug 1.6a9

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

getfirebug.com has Firebug 1.6Xa9.

Most of our time is now going into new features for 1.6:

  • Swarms: Certified Extension Installer. This is a digitally signed, multiple-extension collection tested as together. Still a couple of weeks of work left.
  • Memorybug: leveraging Dion Almer and Atul Varma’s memory analyzer for Firebug. Looks very promising, also a couple of more weeks.
  • (2548) DOCTYPE now shown in HTML panel; add a warning if it does not match the server mimetype; mostly in 1.6a9,
  • Support for XPathResult console logging, in 1.6a9.

Among the bug fixes in 1.6a9 is a change to the Console. It no longer injects an element to support console logging and command line events.
